The team brought its delftAcopter to IMAV 2016, a single-propeller hybrid drone.  The delftAcopter takes off like a helicopter before tilting to continue flight as a plane, and is fully electric.  The delftAcopter is also able to fly autonomously due to its advanced GPS technology.

At IMAV 2016, the MAVLab team won Best Paper.  It also came third in a challenge to fly an autonomous multirotor an indoor, GPS-denied environment.

IMAV is an annual event that combines a scientific conference with a microUAV competition. This allows research groups from all over the world to share their knowledge, and apply research on real-life scenarios. Competition scenarios become more advanced each year.
